A Race to End Cancer

Ride hard. Fund the cure.

Climb for the Cure is a timed MTB / gravel race fundraiser. Every rider's fee supports the life-changing work of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through The Wendy Fund. The climb is hard on purpose — a small echo of a much harder fight.

Questions

Before you ride

Do I need to be an experienced racer?

You can ride for the cause or race competitively, but both routes are challenging. Choose a distance that matches your fitness and off-road riding experience: Route A has 6,422 ft of climbing, and Route B has 2,652 ft. Review the route maps and race rules before registering.

What's the difference between Route A and Route B?

Route A is 50.5 miles with 6,422 ft of elevation gain. Route B is 22.2 miles with 2,652 ft of elevation gain. Both start and finish at Big Barn Brewery. Gravel, MTB, and pedal-assist categories are available. Review the route maps and choose the distance that matches your fitness and experience.

Is there a limit on riders?

Yes — the field is capped at around 450 riders, and spots go quickly. Register early to lock in your place.

Can I ride as a team or bring my company?

Absolutely. The Team / Corporate Cup lets groups ride together and compete as a team — a great fit for companies and clubs. Sign up your team through RunSignup.

Where does my money go?

Climb for the Cure is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (Tax ID 92-2719075). Entry fees and donations support The Wendy Fund and cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and your registration is tax-deductible.

Where does the race start and finish?

Both routes start and finish at Big Barn Brewery, 16004 N Applewood Ln, Mead, WA 99021. Race day is Sunday, June 13, 2027, with staggered starts from 7:00–9:00 AM Pacific. Finish back at Big Barn for the post-race celebration.

What's included with registration?

Registration includes official chip timing, a race T-shirt, and the post-race celebration at Big Barn Brewery. This is a self-supported race: bring the tools, spares, water, and supplies you need. Review the race rules before riding.

What happens if the weather turns?

It's a mountain in June, so expect anything from sun to rain (our riders have climbed through all of it). The race runs rain or shine, and any significant changes are communicated directly to registered riders.

Can I help out instead of riding?

Yes — the race runs on people who show up. Volunteers can email info@climbforthecure.org, and businesses can become a sponsor.

How do I register?

Everything happens on RunSignup — register to ride or make a donation in a couple of minutes.
